“All girl band” the flyer read as I paid the entrance fee and headed into the main hall of the bar. I immediately thought to myself “Oh god, not a chick band”.” I had seen many girl bands come and had watched many go by the wayside over the years usually dying a slow death and fading away. But what the hell, we were here and the crowd was decent so I figured why not. We retrieved our drinks and took a table up front, near the stage.

The room was a buzz and people were gathered at the tables talking amongst one another when the band took the stage. As the first chord stuck, a demanding roar echoed through the room from the amplifiers we sat face to face with. Within seconds our senses were alive and every eye in the place was focused on the stage as if some hypnotical spell had been place over us. I watched in awe at the bassist’s fingers, which quickly raced up, down and back along the fretless plane, thumping out difficult progressive tablatures one might expect from a lead guitarist. The two guitarists hit each chord in unison and the harmonic raw sound, which was accompanied by the precise beat from the drum kit all came together when the keyboard set free it’s haunting and erotic sounds. The sleeping beast inside me, which once had been rock and roll, was now awakened.

The urge to thrust my arms in the air and flash the infamous and controversial “Devils Horn” hand raise and to begin the head bang was strong and refreshing after all of these years. As the music thumped beneath my feet out of no where three hooded figures appeared carrying lit torches. I felt my skin tingle with Goosebumps as they slowly progressed in cadence to the ecstasy of sound that amplified fourth. They slowly marched their way to center stage, heads held low, subservient. “What the hell is going on here”, I thought to myself. A dark gothic beauty then appeared from the same unknown as the others. Had I seen her before? Had I known her in some prior life I thought? As the vocals began to project outward, deep from within, I knew all of the others had just been liars, impostors and false prophets of what was to come. This was the one, plain and simple. Beautiful, dominant and a master at her skill. A master of vocal seduction. Nine stood there before me, like beautiful angels singing to me, each one of them indeed had seduced me. Before me stood an “All girl band”.

Empty TV (aka MT-TV) is an all girl band and a kick in the ass to music as we know it today. Forget about the Corporate sponsored crap that you hear over and over on the radio these days. This band will make you weep! Do not kid yourself. You have not seen anything like this to date. Your ears are virgin to the sounds that are brought forth from these women. Beware world!
